Permanent Holocaust Exhibition

Exhibition Design

This World War II exhibition at the Imperial War Museum opened in June 2000 and has been highly acclaimed. The exhibition broke new ground in the integration of personal stories, testimony, film, artefacts and the historical narrative.

The exhibition fulfils an important educational role, providing visiting school parties with a narrative account of the period – a vital adjunct to their classroom studies on this theme, which has become a part of the UK National Curriculum.

It received the European Museum of the Year Award Special Commendation in 2001.
