Winchester Cathedral

Masterplanning and Exhibition Design

We are designing major new family-focused displays in the South Triforium of Winchester Cathedral. They will tell the remarkable story of this building, from its beginnings in the 11th century through to the present day. It is an epic story of great moments of creativity but also moments of near destruction for the Cathedral.

The displays will also use the newest technologies to tell a story that has never been told before, lifting the curtain on a fascinating and hidden era in English history – when Winchester was one of the premier cities of Anglo-Saxon England.

Metaphor’s unusual blend of skills – which cover ‘hard’ architecture skills and ‘soft’ content, branding and story – has enabled us to create galleries that will work without ‘fighting’ this unique, Grade-1 listed building.
